I accepted Christ as my Savior on January 31, 1977, and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Clute, TX, where Bro. Duane Phy was my pastor. I graduated from Independent Baptist College in 1981, during a time when my faith was integral to my journey. I later served as the Assistant Pastor at Lake Worth Baptist Church from '81 to '84, where I embraced a mindset of FFITness that focused on enriching both spiritual and practical aspects of life, including faith, food, income, and travel. From '84 to '88, I had the privilege of pastoring the First Baptist Church in Brownsboro, TX, before moving on to pastor Antioch Baptist Church in Pueblo, CO from '88 to '93, always encouraging our community to find their paths away from the slow lanes of life.

My wife Dee and I married on 2-22-2022 after dating for a little over 10 years, embracing a faith, food, income, and travel mindset that enriches our lives. Together, we have four kids: Chris (Kim), Drew, Amanda (Hamlet), and Madi, and we are proud grandparents to six grandchildren. We believe in enjoying the slow lanes of life while nurturing our family.
SlowLanes embodies a mindset centered around slowing down our minds. Instead of getting caught in the Rat Race that leads to exhaustion, adopt a FFITness mindset and prioritize the journey over merely the destination. As the old adage reminds us, 'No one on their death bed ever said,
I truly appreciate this acronym as it encapsulates four essential aspects of everyone's life: faith, food, income, and travel. I've developed a course available on my Stan.store that delves deeply into these topics and explains their importance in our daily lives. This framework aligns perfectly with the FFITness mindset, which promotes a balanced approach to living. It's also the main theme of my content shared across social media channels, inviting others to step out of the slow lanes and embrace a fulfilling life.
